Webinar: The Early Majority – the next phase in the UK’s EV transition

Are we ready for the next wave of mainstream EV buyers?

The battery electric vehicle (BEV) transition is approaching its next phase in the UK. With a million BEVs on UK roads and BEVs due to make up over a fifth of all new car sales this year, the UK is moving from the territory of an early adopters market for BEVs to the “early majority” – the beginnings of the mass market.

In this webinar, we will discuss the findings of research carried out for T&E UK by behavioural insights consultants, SKIM, to understand what new car buyer barriers and perceptions of BEVs are and identify potential measures that can best support people to be a part of the “early majority” to accelerate EV takeup.

3 key takeaways

  • Why we are at critical stage on the EV adoption curve as we enter the Early Majority and the mainstream market for the first time
  • What does this crucial segment think about EVs and what’s holding them back?
  • How can automotive companies, policy-makers and journalists think differently about Early Majority consumers to avoid a decline in the pace of adoption and keep us on track to meet our net-zero targets?
