Are we ready for the next wave of mainstream EV buyers?
The battery electric vehicle (BEV) transition is approaching its next phase in the UK. With a million BEVs on UK roads and BEVs due to make up over a fifth of all new car sales this year, the UK is moving from the territory of an early adopters market for BEVs to the “early majority” – the beginnings of the mass market.
In this webinar, we will discuss the findings of research carried out for T&E UK by behavioural insights consultants, SKIM, to understand what new car buyer barriers and perceptions of BEVs are and identify potential measures that can best support people to be a part of the “early majority” to accelerate EV takeup.
David Voxlin is Director of Sustainability & Behaviour Change at SKIM, a leading insights agency. He advises Fortune 500 clients on their sustainability strategies through better understanding their customers and decision- making processes. He has led a series of projects examining consumer attitudes, emotions, and knowledge as to what may be holding back mass EV-adoption in markets including the USA, Germany, China, and the UK.
David started his career at the World Wildlife Fund working on sustainability policy before entering research consultancy at LRW (now Material). He founded Craved, a foodtech startup selling locally produced craft food and drink in London before joining SKIM. David holds a MA in Political Theory from UCL, and an MSc in Demography from LSHTM.
