Uncovering the Unspoken® word – Presented at the ESOMAR APAC 2017
18 May 2017
Shanghai, China

We presented on using Unspoken® to minimize response bias in Asia at ESOMAR Asia-Pacific 2017. In this presentation we revealed how new implicit research techniques enabled by mobile technology can minimize response biases bringing us closer to uncovering true consumer behavior in Asian markets.

Presenters:
– Paul Janssen, VP North America at SKIM
– Robin de Rooij, Director Asia Pacific at SKIM

Uncovering the Unspoken® word to minimize response bias in Asia

If you conduct research in Asia, you have probably run into response biases like acquiescent response style (ARS) and socially desirable responses (SDR). With help of partner Research Now, we addressed how new implicit research techniques enabled by mobile technology can minimize ARS and SDR and bring us closer to uncovering true consumer behavior in the Asian market.

In many ways, Asia has surpassed Silicon Valley in developing cutting edge mobile tech. The goal of bringing this topic to ESOMAR APAC was to inspire the marketing research industry to also take a leading role in developing mobile research methods that help overcome response biases.
