The Workspace Management Team  
The Workspace Management team is responsible for the digital and physical workspace of all employees.  A culture where smart, genuine people are solving challenging business challenge can only exist when people are well equipped, safe and supported to carry out their responsibilities. We operate a hybrid working model which means supporting employees in the office, but also online. As the Global Lead of the Workspace team, you will be managing the team members in Rotterdam and Atlanta. Together you will promote global workspace initiatives in 11 offices, across 8 countries. You will be supporting our 300+ people to feel empowered by their work environment, the facilities provided and the space they use.   

Key Responsibilities 
As Global Workspace Lead, you will shape both the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of SKIM’s global workspace initiatives. You will lead a team of five colleagues and act as a trusted advisor to the Management Team, working closely with HR, Finance and Legal. Your focus creating a future-ready work environment that seamlessly works; combining digital tools and physical spaces to support productivity, collaboration and well-being at scale. 

Your key responsibilities include: 

  • Global Workspace strategy & vision: Defining and owning SKIM’s global vision for digital and physical workspaces, aligned with our future-of-work strategy, while anticipating trends in workplace technology and hybrid work models. 
  • IT Security & Compliance: Managing IT transitions and digital platform rollouts, safeguarding systems and data worldwide through access management, compliance with security policies, GDPR, and ISO certifications (ISO 20252). 
  • Operational excellence across locations: Overseeing the daily operations of physical offices and digital workplace tools across all locations, acting as the first point of escalation for workspace-related issues globally.
  • Projects, improvements & scalability: Leading workspace improvement initiatives and office or IT projects, while standardizing and optimizing processes to enable scalability, consistency and efficiency. 
  • Vendor & contract management: Managing the outsourced IT services partner and other suppliers, monitoring performance, ensuring quality of delivery, and driving cost efficiency through effective contract management. 
  • People leadership & team development: Managing and coaching the global workspace team, fostering autonomy, high service levels and continuous improvement. 
  • Governance, policies & cross-functional collaboration: Coordinating with HR, Finance and Legal on workspace policies, compliance, budgets, and governance frameworks. 
  • Health, safety, sustainability & impact measurement: Ensuring health, safety and sustainability standards across all offices, while measuring impact through data-driven insights on adoption, productivity and employee satisfaction. 

What we’re looking for 
We’re looking for someone who bring both strategic insight and operational excellence to our Workspace Management team. Ideally, you have a strong background in IT and Security and thrive in dynamic, international environments. 

  • At least 10 years of experience in IT, ideally in a global or multi-office setting  
  • Experience with IT strategy and security (ISO certification and GDPR), access management, and compliance frameworks 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills 
  • Proven ability to lead a team and foster a culture of autonomy and service excellence 
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving 
  • Fluent in English 
  • Available for 32 hours per week  
  • Authorization to work in the Netherlands (resident, citizen, valid visa or other)
